World Wide Web Workshop

This workshop is scheduled during the 1996 NEEDHA Annual Meeting. Enrollment is limited and pre-registration is necessary.

This workshop is intended for you if you want to understand how very simple it is to produce documents for the World Wide Web. After a brief description of a minimal set of formatting commands for HTML, you will produce your own personal home page, complete with your picture and whatever other links you may want to incorporate. The following topics will be covered:

Writing HTML is not difficult. It is not rocket science. Even EE department heads can do it. There will be undergraduate tutors at the workshop to help you.

Bring a photograph of yourself. A scanner will be available. You will carry away with you a floppy disk (either Mac or PC) with your home page, which you can give to your system administrator who can then install it on the Web. Copies of a popular Web browser will also be available.

The workshop will take place at the University of California at San Diego, in a room equipped with Macintosh computers. Enrollment is limited to 20, and pre-registration is necessary. Car-pooling arrangements will be made when you register.
