1998 Annual Meeting -- Information Fourteenth Annual Meeting Turtle Bay Hilton Oahu, Hawaii March 13 - 17, 1998

NEEDHA cordially invites you to participate in the 1998 NEEDHA Annual Meeting, March 13-17, Turtle Bay Hilton, Oahu, Hawaii.

A dynamic educational program has been outlined for this year's meeting. Feedback from last year's meeting indicated a strong interest in ABET Criteria 2000. Saturday will feature a keynote address, panel discussions, and presentations regarding preparation for visits, getting faculty involved, setting goals, assessment tools and much more relating to Criteria 2000.

Monday will feature breakout sessions on topics important to you as well as a presentation on the internationalization of engineering education. Monday afternoon's session, Your Opinion Counts, has been expanded to allow more time for discussion.

This program has been designed to provide you with valuable information as well as an enjoyable NEEDHA / Hawaii experience. Please plan on joining your colleagues in March.

Important Hotel Information

It is imperative that all NEEDHA members make their hotel accommodations as early as possible. Rooms at the Turtle Bay Hilton will sell out early. Call the Turtle Bay Hilton Golf and Tennis Resort at 1-808-293-8811. When you call, be sure to say that you will be attending the NEEDHA meeting, so you will qualify for the special rate. The Turtle Bay Hilton Golf and Tennis Resort is an 808 acre oasis on the North shore of Oahu. The resort features two pools, one overlooking the Pacific, more than five miles of shoreline, 27 holes of championship golf, 10 tennis courts and much, much more.

Getting to the Hilton

United Airlines is offering special discounted fares (tickets must be purchased at least 60 days in advance) for this meeting on airfare and rental cars. To take advantage of these fares and rates, call, or have your travel agent call, 1-800-521-4041, daily from 8:00 am to 11:00 PM Eastern time. Ground Transportation- Airport shuttle service is provided by the Hilton -- $35 per person, one way (Last shuttle of the day is 4:45 p.m. & you must make a reservation at least 24 hours in advance). Taxis are available (cost is approximately $85).

Spouse / Guest Information

A special activities tour program is provided for spouses and guests on Saturday, March 14. Please be sure to register your spouse / guest for this activity. Spouse / Guest Registration fees include the Saturday tour and NEEDHA banquet activities.
