NEEDHA invites you to participate in the 2000 Annual Meeting, March 17-21, 2000 at the Omni Royal Orleans in New Orleans, LA.
The meeting begins on Friday afternoon with a 1-hour presentation for new department chairs. This presentation is given by a seasoned department chair and is a must for those who are new to this role.
The Opening Reception on Friday evening provides an opportunity for you and your guest to renew old acquaintances as well as meet some new faces.
A dynamic educational program has been planned for this year's meeting. You may view the preliminary program on the NEEDHA Web site. This program has been designed to provide you with valuable information as well as an enjoyable NEEDHA experience.
The Omni Royal Orleans is located in the heart of the French Quarter, only one block from Bourbon Street. This hotel offers a rooftop pool and observation desk, fitness center and much more. You can make your reservations by calling the Omni directly at 504-529-5333. Please reference the NEEDHA meeting when making your reservation to insure receiving the special NEEDHA room rate. You must make your reservation by February 17, 2000 to insure receiving this rate.

The Omni Royal Orleans is only 12 miles from the airport and easily accessible by taxi ($21 per person) or airport shuttle ($10 per person).
A special program will be provided for your spouse/guest on Saturday, March 18th. Details of the activity will be available by mid-October and posted on the Web site. Spouse/Guest Registration fee of $125 includes the Friday evening welcome reception, Saturday's breakfast, tour and luncheon, as well as Saturday evening's reception, dinner and program, and Monday's reception and dinner.
You may register for this meeting by using the Registration Form on the Web, or by returning the Registration Form which is being mailed to all department heads in early October.
You may pay by credit card (Visa, Master Card or Discover), or the NEEDHA office will bill you after processing your registration.

NEEDHA ABET WorkshopOn Thursday, March 16, 2000, NEEDHA will facilitate a special full day ABET workshop in the Omni Royal Orleans for those programs to be visited under ABET C2000 in the Fall of 2001. This meeting is designed to accommodate one person from each EE/CompEng program to be visited under Criteria 2000 in Fall 2001, in preparation for the visit. Please see the NEEDHA ABET Workshop page on the NEEDHA Web site for further information and a registration form. Registration for this meeting is separate from registration for the Annual Meeting. IEEE ABET WorkshopThe IEEE will also sponsor a one day program on Friday, March 17, 2000, beginning with a continental breakfast at 8:00 am and closing at 5:00 pm. Payment and registration for this program is separate from the NEEDHA Annual Meeting and is being handled by the IEEE. For information and registration, contact:
