2004 ECEDHA Annual Meeting

ECEDHA invites you to participate in the 2004 Annual Meeting, March 19-23, 2004 at the Renaissance Orlando Resort in Orlando, Florida.
This year's program, Electrical and Computer Engineering - Leading Technology Awareness, which is what the disciple has done in the past, begins on Friday afternoon, March 19, with registration that opens at 3:00 pm. A 1.5 hour presentation for new department chairs begins at 5:00 pm. This presentation is given by a seasoned department chair, Professor David Irwin of Auburn University, and is a must for those who are new (and old!) to this role.
The Opening Reception on Friday evening at 6:30 pm provides an opportunity for you and your guest to renew old acquaintances as well as meet some new faces.
As usual, ECEDHA's Board of Directors has worked hard to design a program that will provide attendees ample time for both educational and networking opportunities. You may view the preliminary program.

Twentieth Annual Meeting

Across the street from SeaWorld Orlando, the Renaissance Orlando Resort provides premium accommodations for travelers seeking luxury and convenience. This resort features 780 guest rooms in a beautifully decorated site. Throughout the hotel, one can experience the pleasures of a relaxing and fun visit. Behind the hotel is a recreation area with a large pool, whirlpool, and pool-side bar. Nearby is a volleyball court, tennis courts, a fenced-in playground with a sandy bottom, and an 18-hole golf course. Shops, meeting rooms, a businesscenter, two lounges, and a mix of restaurants are located on the ground floor of the hotel. The Resort is only 10 miles from the Orlando International Airport. Rental cars are readily available at the airport. Driving directions from the airport are as follows: Take SR-528-Toll West to International Drive/Turnpike for approximately 10 miles. Take a right on the access road at the sign reading "Sea World/Convention Ctr." and go West. Turn left onto International Drive and go South. Turn right on Sea Harbor Drive and go Southwest until you reach the hotel.

A special program will be provided for your spouse/guest on Saturday, March 20th. The Spouse/Guest Registration fee of $150 includes Friday evening's welcome reception, Saturday's breakfast, tour and luncheon, as well as Saturday evening's reception, dinner and program, and Monday's reception and dinner.

ECEDHA EC2000 WorkshopOn Friday, March 19, 2004, ECEDHA will facilitate a special full day ABET EC2000 workshop at the Renaissance Orlando Resort for those programs to be visited under ABET EC2000 in the Fall of 2005. This meeting is designed to accommodate one person from each EE/CpE program to be visited under Criteria 2000 in Fall 2005, in preparation for the visit. Registration for this workshop is SEPARATE from registration for the 2004 Annual Meeting. You may obtain a registration form for this workshop by calling the ECEDHA office at 312-559-4625. The workshop fee, which includes a continental breakfast, lunch, and dinner on Friday evening, is $300 per attendee. Your guest may attend the Friday dinner at a cost of $25. Payment for this special workshop can be made by check or credit card (Visa, Master Card, American Express, Discover, Diners Club). IEEE ABET Workshop for Program EvaluatorsThe IEEE will also sponsor a one day program for the training of new program evaluators on Sunday, March 21, 2004, beginning with a continental breakfast at 8:00 am and closing at 5:00 pm. ECEDHA members or their designees are welcome. Payment and registration for this program is separate from the ECEDHA Annual Meeting and is being handled by the IEEE.
